Special Notice About Student Scholarships

Foundation for Outdoor Advertising Research and Education (FOARE) scholarships support the education and career goals of those who are part of the outdoor advertising families.

Industry families have received more than $115,000 to educate their children.

Seven $3,000 scholarships and one $4,5000 scholarship are available for:
- Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at an accredited institution.
- High school seniors accepted to an undergraduate program at an accredited institution.
- Students accepted into a master’s or doctoral program.

FOARE 2011- 2012 Scholarship Winners

Jeffery Kurr of Las Vegas, NV, received the Ruth Segal Scholarship in the amount of $4,500. Kurr is studying for an M.A. in communication at Baylor University in Waco, TX. He received his undergraduate degree from the  University of Pittsburgh. His father is the president of Clear Channel Outdoor in Las Vegas.
 

The following have been selected to receive $3,000 scholarships from the Foundation for Outdoor Advertising Research and Education (FOARE) for the 2011-2012 academic year:

Sam Cantor of Venice, CA, is the recipient of the FOARE Creative Arts/Design scholarship. He will be entering Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Brandcenter to study for an M.S. in art direction. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and also studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.

Brian Baranyi of Wheaton, IL, is a senior studying kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His mother is a real estate representative for CBS Outdoor in Chicago.

William Ethridge of Calhoun, GA, is a junior studying industrial engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His late father worked as an accountant for Clear Channel Outdoor.

Riley Huber of Salt Lake City, UT, is a senior studying international studies at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. His uncle works for CBS Outdoor Los Angeles.

Joseph Lamberti of Berkley, MI, is entering his freshman year at Michigan State University as a marketing major. His father is the creative director at CBS Outdoor Detroit.

Amy Matheu of Richmond, VA, is studying for an M.S. in mass communications and advertising at the Virginia Commonwealth  University (VCU) Brandcenter.

Katherine G. Polenick of Warren, OH, is seeking a B.S. in industrial design from the University of Cincinnati. Her mother has worked as a graphic designer for outdoor advertising companies.
