Cracker Barrel to Receive Outdoor Advertising OBIE Hall of Fame Award

(Washington) – The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) will honor Cracker Barrel Old Country Store with the 2011 OBIE Hall of Fame Award. The OBIE Hall of Fame recognizes brands that have built an enduring legacy through the consistent use of the outdoor medium over many years.

“Cracker Barrel is well deserving of this prestigious lifetime achievement award,” said OAAA President & CEO Nancy Fletcher. “For more than 30 years, Cracker Barrel has embraced the outdoor medium. While maintaining consistency in its brand and values, it has leveraged the billboard market to become and remain one of the most well-liked family restaurant chains in America.”

Cracker Barrel Chairman and CEO Michael A. Woodhouse commented, “Cracker Barrel was built with the comfort and the needs of the traveler in mind, so outdoor advertising has always been an important way of communicating with our guests. We are pleased at this recognition of the effectiveness of our efforts and honored to be in the fine company of the winners from previous years.”

Buntin Out-of-Home Media has served as Cracker Barrel’s outdoor agency spanning many years. “We are proud of what our friends at Cracker Barrel have accomplished,” said Howard Greiner, Buntin Out-of-Home Media president. “Proud of this prestigious OBIE Hall of Fame Award. Proud that we pulled up a rocker beside them 32 years ago when there were only 17 stores. And proud that we have driven the roads, selected the boards, and managed a program that could gain such recognition. It is a privilege and honor on many levels.”

The esteemed award will be presented at the association’s Gala Dinner, where the winners of the 69th OBIE Awards will be announced. The dinner will take place on the closing night of the 2011 OAAA/TAB National Convention & Trade Show on April 13 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Contenders for this year’s OBIE Awards will be announced next week.
